Case studies

What door-to-door did for real fiber builds.

Starting penetration, what the crew did, and what changed, with the numbers each client cleared for publication. Clients are named only with their written permission.

How results are measured

Every number comes from the client's own records.

A study starts with the client's serviceable address list and the number of homes already subscribed on the day reps start, which gives the starting penetration. During the pass every sale goes into the client's order system, and only installs confirmed on the client's install report count toward the result. Reps are paid on that same report, so the subscriber figure in a case study is the figure the client was invoiced for. Cancellations inside the client's chargeback window come off the total before anything is published.

The first study

1,317 addresses, 14 days, 228 new subscribers.

A regional fiber provider had just made 1,317 addresses serviceable. When reps started, 32 homes subscribed, a penetration of 2.43%. Fourteen days later 260 did, 19.74%. Timing did most of the work: the first weeks after homes become serviceable are when door-to-door produces the most, so a program is best planned before the area lights.

New studies are added as clients clear their figures for publication. A client is named only with written permission; until then a study gives the segment, the market size and the numbers.
