How pay works

$100 to $325 per activated install, depending on experience, skill and location. Paid weekly. The rate is set per client and plan tier, and you see it for every plan in the app before you sell.

Estimated weekly pay: $800 to $2,600. Knoqly sales reps are 1099 independent contractors paid on commission only, with no hourly wage, salary or guaranteed minimum. Pay depends on the installs each rep produces and varies with market, experience, skill, hours worked and commission rate. The weekly range is an estimate, not a guarantee of earnings.

Commission triggers at activation, when the ONT lights up, not at the signature. Sale, install, activation, and cleared-of-chargeback are four separate events, sometimes separated by weeks or months (D2DHQ).

Vendors use one of two payment models: pay-then-clawback, where you're paid up front and charged back if the customer cancels inside a 30 to 180-day window, and hold-then-release, where payout waits 30, 60, or 90 days before it clears. Knoqly pays weekly after install and charges back inside the client's window, which you get in writing before your first door. If a customer cancels, you get 24 hours to try to save the sale before our retention lead steps in.

What to ask before you sign anywhere

67% of sales reps say they'd stay longer at a company that paid commissions within 24 hours; 41% report waiting 30 or more days for a check (Everee). Pay speed is one of the clearest signals of how a vendor actually operates.

Before signing with any door-to-door fiber sales company: get chargeback terms in writing, ask how turf gets assigned and whether it's exclusive, and ask how fast commissions actually clear once a customer activates, not just when they're first credited. At Knoqly, before you commit to a market, we tell you how many addresses it has, who the main competitors are, when it was last knocked, and how long the blitz will run.

Blitz or planted

Two ways to work: travel with a blitz team or plant locally.

Blitz

A team travels to an area where the fiber just went live and works it for two weeks or longer. Blitzes go to the freshest turf, so experienced fiber reps usually take them first. Travel and housing are on you unless a blitz posting says otherwise, and every posting states its travel and housing terms before you sign up.

Planted

You live in the market and work it steadily, week after week, and sleep in your own bed. Where we have a planted team, new reps learn next to it.

A day in the life

Most selling happens in the afternoon and early evening, when people are home. A day usually starts with a short team check-in and your turf for the day in the app, then knocking until the town's solicitation hours end.

At the door you point out the fiber work that just finished in the neighborhood, find out what the household actually uses the internet for, and recommend the plan that fits, even when that means no sale. Every sale goes into the provider's order system so the install gets scheduled.

The path to team lead

Reps who recruit and train others can move into a team lead role, with an override on the installs their team produces. The override is set in writing before it starts.

Team leads help open new markets, train the planted reps there, and run the blitz teams that come through.

Frequently asked questions

How does fiber sales rep pay actually work?
You are paid on activation, when the customer's service is live, not at the signature. Knoqly pays $100 to $325 per activated install, depending on experience, skill and location, weekly, and charges a commission back if the customer cancels inside the client's chargeback window, which you get in writing before your first door.
What experience do I need to sell fiber door to door?
You don't need fiber experience. Any door-to-door vertical counts: solar, pest control, alarms, cable and internet, and reps who have sold fiber ramp faster. If you're new to door-to-door, say so on the form: new reps start in a planted market, next to someone who has done it for years. Everyone is trained on the client's offer, service area, and conduct standard before working a market.
Are fiber sales reps 1099 contractors or W-2 employees?
Knoqly's reps are 1099 independent contractors, paid per activated install, with the chargeback terms in writing before the first door. Ask any vendor directly, because the structure changes what taxes and benefits look like.
How do I apply for door-to-door fiber sales jobs with Knoqly?
Fill out the four-question form on this page with your name, phone, market and experience. We call or text you about openings that match, and you are trained before you work a single door.
How is turf assigned?
Your manager assigns your turf each day in the provider's own mapping app, so you know exactly which doors to work. Before you commit to a market, we tell you how many addresses it has, who the main competitors are, when it was last knocked, and how long the blitz will run.
How is selling fiber door to door different from a call center sales job?
Field reps sell face to face and are paid per activated install, not per call or per hour. It is commission work.
